Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Officer, located at Proguard Ltd’s headquarters in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius. The Legal Officer will be responsible for assisting the company on law-related matters, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations on being instructed by the Head of Legal. The role involves conducting legal research, managing contracts, providing legal consultations, and assisting with other legal activities related to the company’s operations. Collaboration with various teams across the organization to address legal concerns will also be a key responsibility.
The Legal Officer will report to the Legal Committee which is a Board Sub-Committee
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Business Law and general Law, with the ability to apply these to corporate and security industry practices
- Proficiency in Legal Consulting and Legal Document Preparation to ensure proper documentation and advice for the organization
- Expertise in Contract Law, including drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts
- Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field, with relevant certifications being an asset. University graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in the security services industry or corporate legal functions is an advantage but is not mandatory
